One Child In Magelang Dies Positive For COVID-19

MAGELANG - A child resident of East Bogeman, Panjang Village, Magelang City with the initials VEJ (7) died at Tidar Hospital, Magelang City, Central Java, in a positive condition for COVID-19.

Head of the Magelang City Health Office, Istiqomah, said VEJ died at Tidar Hospital, on Sunday (7/8), after undergoing treatment since July 28, 2022.

"Indeed there are comorbidities, but we cannot reveal in detail what the disease is. Intensive care efforts have been carried out, but indeed the condition is not good plus comorbidities and efforts have been made but to no avail," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 8.

Istiqomah said that the supporting examination was positive for COVID-19, in addition to the swab test, there were also x-rays and blood tests. The X-ray also supports it and the saturation is also not good.

He said that after testing positive for COVID-19, steps were taken, tracing close contacts (tracing) and follow-up in the form of treatment for COVID-19 sufferers.

According to him, in the last few weeks there have been cases of COVID-19 in Magelang City even though there are no more than 15 active cases.

"Indeed, there are one or two additions, but there are also additional recovered ones. There were 14 positive cases of COVID-19 in Magelang City today," he said.

Lurah Panjang Faturakhman Eka Nugraha said the results of the examination of one family were all negative.

"It was confirmed from the Social Service that if there are positive or those who are in isolation, logistical assistance will be provided," he said.
