TANGERANG - A plastic warehouse in Kosambi, Tangerang Regency caught fire. The fire is thought to have originated from a short circuit when trying to start the welding machine.

Head of Emergency and Logistics BPBD Tangerang Regency, Abdul Munir said the incident occurred Friday, August 5, at 13:28 WIB.

He explained that the fire occurred when one of the plastic warehouse employees wanted to weld. However, due to a short circuit in the socket, sparks arose.

"He (the employee) did the welding. But the welding machine has not been activated. But the socket was just plugged in. Maybe because of the shaking on it, the cable wasn't good enough. There was a short circuit," Abdul said when confirmed, Friday, August 5.

Actually the employees at the factory had been trying to put out the fire. However, because there are many combustible materials, the fire spreads quickly.

"Employees have tried to use Apar (Light Fire Extinguishing Equipment). However, the fire quickly grew because there were a lot of flammable materials," he said.

Abdul also explained that as many as four firefighting units were deployed. As a result, the fire is now under control.

Abdul claimed not to know the losses due to the fire incident. However, he confirmed that there were no casualties.

"Losses still cannot be estimated. Employees left and there were no casualties, the fire was extinguished at 16.30 WIB," closed
