COVID-19 Update As Of August 5: New Cases 5,929, Active Cases 50,300

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 112,219 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,929 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,235,244 people and active cases have fallen by 400 to 50,300 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, August 5.

Today's recovered cases increased by 6,323 people, bringing the total to 6,027,872 recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 12 cases and totaled 157,072 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 2,569 cases and a total of 1,342,235 cases. Followed by West Java with 1,193 new cases with a total of 1,140,594 cases. Banten with 680 new cases and a total of 315,372 cases. East Java with 415 new cases and a total of 587,485 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,833 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,591 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 726 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 412 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 104,244,259.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 8.56 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 6,237 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 202,687,498 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,250,678 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 57,123,161. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
