Regarding Healthy Homes, Anies Is Called Being Caper Of Lower Class People Ahead Of The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Political researcher from the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN), Wasisto Raharjo Jati suspects that DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has political intentions in renaming a regional public hospital (RSUD) into a healthy home for Jakarta.

According to Wasisto, the naming of a healthy house at a hospital owned by the regional government is Anies' way to get people's attention. Anies wants to grow sympathy and empathy for community groups, especially the lower class towards him ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"The replacement of the nomenclature from a hospital to a healthy house is Pak Anies' effort to gain empathy from the lower classes. The label of a healthy house is part of an effort to attract grassroots sympathy or empathy," Wasisto said when contacted, Friday, 5 August.

This pattern has previously been applied by Anies, namely when he changed dozens of street names in Jakarta to become the names of Betawi figures.

Despite the ripples of controversy and criticism of this policy, Wasisto sees, at least Anies wants to leave a "legacy" of policies that touch the community after his term ends in October 2022.

This "inheritance", continued Wasisto, could be Anies' provision to continue to increase his electability ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election.

"If we look at it, this is a form of long-term investment. It means that Mr. Anies here is trying to invest his name with this nomenclature, that these two related policies are all inherited from Mr. Anies, regardless of the controversy," explained Wasisto.

For information, the healthy house for Jakarta is a manifestation of the health services of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as many as 31 hospitals. Anies also explained why he made the policy.

Anies said that the change of the name of the hospital to a healthy house at a health service facility owned by the regional government was carried out to change the mindset of the community so that they not only visited when they were sick, but also in order to maintain and improve the quality of their health.

This was conveyed by Anies at the launch of the naming of a healthy house for Jakarta at Cengkareng Hospital, West Jakarta, Wednesday, August 3.

“So far, our hospitals are curative and rehabilitative, so people come because they are sick and want to get well. Come to the hospital to get well, but to get well you have to be sick first. Well, on the other hand, in yesterday's pandemic, we witnessed the importance of maintaining health. Therefore, the role of the Healthy House is added, namely the promotive and preventive aspects," said Anies.

Anies' decision has drawn criticism from a number of members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, particularly the PDIP and PSI factions. However, the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin apparently did not mind the translation.
