BANAJRMASIN - The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BBPOM) in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan found as many as 595 illegal cosmetic products resulting from market control of illegal cosmetics and/or containing hazardous ingredients.

"Of the 595 packages, 504 packages of cosmetics without a distribution permit (TIE), expired 64 packages of cosmetics, and 27 packages of strong drugs were found," said Head of BBPOM Banjarmasin Leonard Duma in Banjarmasin, Antara, Wednesday, August 3.

The types of findings of cosmetic products without a marketing authorization (TIE) include face creams, lipsticks, eyebrow pencils, foundations, nail dyes, masks, soaps, and others.

POM officials who went to the field together with the South Kalimantan Trade Service, South Kalimantan Health Service and related agencies in local districts and cities conducted an inspection of the cosmetic distribution facilities of 39 shops with the results that 18 shops met the provisions (MK) and 21 facilities did not meet the provisions (TMK). ).

The findings of illegal products have been followed up with an order for destruction, and shop owners are asked to make a stamped statement that they are no longer distributing or selling TIE cosmetic products.

The Duma appealed to the public to always be vigilant and careful in purchasing cosmetics, both online and directly in stores.
