2 Perpetrators Of Online Taxi Driver Murder Whose Bodies Are Tapered In Indramayu Arrested

INDRAMAYU - The Satreskrim team of the Indramayu Police, West Java Police arrested two perpetrators of the murder of an online taxi driver whose body was found in an irrigation canal with duct tape wrapped around it.

"We have arrested two suspects in the murder," said Indramayu Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Lukman Syarif as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 2.

Lukman said the two suspects arrested were Ashadi alias AS who came from Kebumen Regency, Central Java, and Sandra alias S came from Lumajang Regency, East Java.

According to him, the arrest of the two suspects after his party received a report from the community who found an unidentified corpse in the irrigation of Pekandangan Village, Indramayu District/Regency.

After an autopsy, Lukman said, the body was identified as Widodo (45), who is an online taxi driver in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency.

"Our suspect was arrested in two different places, one in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, and the other in Lumajang, East Java," he said.

Lukman said the two suspects had planned to steal the victim's vehicle and also kill her. Before committing the crime, the two perpetrators had bought duct tape, and also planned to kill, and take the victim's vehicle to sell.

"They had planned to kill the victim, because they had prepared everything thoroughly," he said.

Indramayu Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Fitran Romajimah said the two suspects ordered the victim's vehicle without going through an application, because they had previously used his services.

This, Fitran said, was an effort to eliminate traces because he had already planned to carry out the execution.

"When ordering a vehicle, the two immediately called without going through an application. And after walking for a few minutes, both of them immediately committed murder," he said.

From the two suspects' hands, his party confiscated a number of evidences, such as residual duct tape, cash belonging to the victim, sharp weapons, and several others.

For their actions, both of them were subject to multiple articles such as Article 340 of the Criminal Code, 338 of the Criminal Code, and Article 365 of the Criminal Code with the threat of life imprisonment.
