PAYAKUMBUH - The Payakumbuh Police Team, West Sumatra arrested four suspected robbers who were targeting the gold bracelets of women who were riding motorbikes.

"We have managed to secure four suspected perpetrators from two groups of violent thefts, in this case the robbery that occurred at the Payakumbuh Police Regional Police Headquarters," said Payakumbuh Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Aknopilindo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 1.

He revealed that the last time the suspect carried out a mugging action against women in the Padang Tinggi Village and Padang Datar Villages where the action was caught on CCTV and went viral.

"Currently, what the robbers are targeting is gold bracelets belonging to women. So women who want to drive should not use gold bracelets," he said.

While carrying out the action, the suspect caused the victim to have an accident due to the withdrawal of the gold that the victim was wearing when the victim was riding a motorcycle, so that the victim fell which resulted in abrasions around the victim's legs and thighs.

The four perpetrators or suspects were detained in a number of different places, namely in Limapuluh Kota Regency and Pekanbaru City.

The first arrest was made of the suspect RD in the Guguak Area, Limapuluh Kota Regency on July 27, 2022 at around 05.00 WIB.

The suspect, whose address is in Pekanbaru City, was arrested when he returned to his wife's house in Guguak because the suspect was sleeping, the suspect was easily caught.

After being arrested, RD was examined at the Payakumbuh Police for further examination. In front of investigators, the suspect admitted to the robbery that he carried out along with a number of other herd.
