JAKARTA - The handicrafts of bamboo musical instruments from Purbalingga Regency are increasingly being hunted by buyers thanks to Ganjar. Namely online promotion through the Instagram Story of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

Tetra Febri Riyanto, a bamboo musical instrument craftsman on Jalan Lawet RT 03 RW 03, Purbalingga Wetan Village, Purbalingga Regency, said that his business experienced a decline in demand during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, Tetra idly included his bamboo musical instrument in Ganjar using the @tetra_wbs account. He knew there was a program initiated by Ganjar Pranowo from Instagram.

"Very affected by the pandemic. Finally, I saw there was Ganjar on Instagram. At first, it was just a fad for marketing, because during the pandemic, it fell quite a bit," Tetra said in an official statement from the provincial government, Sunday, July 31.

The results are amazing, requests are starting to come in. And, slowly began to be hunted buyers back.

“Alhamdulillah, after joining Ganjar, production began to increase, starting to return to normal. Our requests are all over Indonesia, but currently most of them are from Central Java and East Java," he said.

Tetra said, the effect felt was not only for his bamboo musical instrument brand. It turned out that Ganjar also introduced other brands of bamboo musical instruments in Purbalingga.

"There are six of my family here, and all of them have production of bamboo musical instruments with various brands. With Ganjar, other brands are also known. Your efforts also feel the impact, "he continued.

Tetra explained that the bamboo musical instruments he produces include angklung, kentongan, xylophone, drum cello, bass beat, and others. One set of musical instruments is priced at an average of IDR 5 million. Currently, many people are ordering their products.

“The more they are hunted, the faster the production. If the raw material is bamboo, look for it in Purbalingga. The harvest must be in the right season, and deposited for one to two years so that the quality is good and durable,” he said.

Bamboo musical instruments, added Tetra, are used to accompany traditional arts, especially in the Banyumas Residency. Such as Purbalingga, Banyumas, Banjarnegara, and Cilacap.

“The main bamboo musical instrument is the kentongan, one of the traditional musical instruments typical of Banyumasan including Purbalingga, Banyumas, Banjarnegara, Cilacap. There is also usually a kentongan festival here," he said.
