Participate In The Heritage Carnival Of Dalem Mangkunegaran, Ganjar: The Palace And The Village Are Now Closer

SURAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo took part in the procession of the Dalem 1 Sura EHE 1956 Heritage Carnival, Friday, July 29 evening. The Heritage Carnival is held by Pura Mangkunegaran Surakarta to welcome the night of 1 Sura or the New Year's Eve of the Javanese calendar.

Ganjar, who was accompanied by his wife, Siti Atikoh, walked along the carnival route with a group of soldiers. Namely, from the pendapa, exit to the south, Pamedan, to the west, play Mangkunegaran once, then enter the pendapa area.

This is the first time the Pusaka Carnival has been held openly after the pandemic. For about 90 minutes, the number one man in Central Java walked barefoot, like other palace soldiers.

Along the road through which the carnival passes, people are crowded. They directed their cellphone cameras to capture the moment, especially to Ganjar who was in the back row.

"Yes, the atmosphere was lively. The response from the community was good," said Ganjar after the carnival in the release of the Central Java Provincial Government.

For him, the Pusaka Dalem Carnival which was held openly showed how the Keraton was closer to the community.

"Yes, I said the Keraton and the village became closer. Yes, the cultural atmosphere is very strong," he said.

According to him, cultural activities need to continue to be displayed. However, he reminded the importance of maintaining health protocols.

"I think there are many cultural activities that need to be shown. We can enjoy it enough, people are happy and health protocols are maintained," he explained.

Preservation of tradition and culture, according to Ganjar, will automatically become a tourist attraction.

"Of course, automatically (so) tourism. Everyone is waiting, and all of them were very welcoming," he explained.
