Speaking In Front Of A Delegation Of US Soldiers, Commander-in-Chief General Andika Calls Joint Exercises To Increase TNI's Capacity

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa said the opportunity to conduct joint exercises with the US Special Operation Command Pacific was a good opportunity for TNI soldiers to expand connections, share knowledge, and dare to communicate.

“With this interaction, each of our soldiers has more courage to communicate. What I think is the most important thing is, making our soldiers also have friends," said Andika quoted from the YouTube channel @Jenderal TNI Andika Perkasa, Antara, Friday, July 29.

Thus, Andika hopes that the soldiers can take advantage of the opportunity in the form of joint training to interact and make friends, not just exchange knowledge.

"This opportunity will be a valuable experience for TNI soldiers," he said.

Andika made this statement in front of a delegation from the US Special Operation Command Pacific during a meeting with the TNI regarding joint exercises involving the Special Forces Corps from three TNI dimensions.

Based on previous reports, there were a number of joint exercises held by the Indonesian army and the United States army, such as joint exercises between the Special Forces Corps of three TNI dimensions and the US Special Operation Command Pacific.

Furthermore, there are also joint exercises for the maintenance of the peace of Garuda Canti Dharma 2022 and the upcoming joint exercise, namely the joint exercise of Garuda Shield 2022 on August 1-14, 2022.

A number of joint training locations for Garuda Shield 2022 are Baturaja, Amborawang, and Batam Island.

Garuda Shield is an annual joint exercise between the TNI and the US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) designed to strengthen interoperability, capability, mutual trust and cooperation.

Members of the Indonesian and United States military will join military personnel from Australia, Japan and Singapore in the joint exercise Garuda Shield 2022.
