JAKARTA - Due to traffic congestion in the Dukuh Atas area, the Central Jakarta Metro Police will conduct traffic engineering in the near future.

Traffic engineering will be implemented after police officers carry out monitoring of traffic that is dense and snaking for a long time.

"In the future, we will carry out traffic engineering and road closures if necessary," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, July 27.

Based on the monitoring of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, traffic jams started from Friday to Saturday night, then Saturday, Sunday to Monday. Community activities from Friday to Monday are very busy.

"Our monitoring activities are extraordinary. In fact, according to our observations, traffic jams can reach Senayan, Semanggi and Dukuh Atas," he explained.

A traffic engineering process will be applied to unravel the congestion caused by the Dukuh Atas CFW phenomenon.

"After we monitored it, the congestion was caused by activities at Citayam Fashion Week (CFW). We made efforts to normalize it," he said.

From the analysis conducted by the Police, the congestion was triggered by traffic constriction from four lanes of vehicles on Jalan Jend Sudirman.

"There is a traffic flow pattern from 4 lanes on Jalan Jend Sudirman, so suddenly (a number of vehicles) converging will turn towards the Dukuh Atas location. There is a blockage," he explained.

Kombes Komarudin admitted that the Citayam phenomenon, which is currently trending in Central Jakarta, has had a tremendous impact.

"This activity has a tremendous impact, one of which is traffic jams," he concluded.
