SOUTHEAST MALUKU - Maluku Regional Police Chief Inspector General Lotharia Latif and Military Commander XVI/Pattimura Major General Ruruh Aris Setyawibawa inspected the condition of Southeast Maluku Regency (Malra). Both of them called for the two conflicting groups of residents in Ohoi (Village) Ohoiren and Ohoidertutu to immediately make peace.

"Other provinces are already competing to develop and advance their regions, so I hope this is the first and last incident. Stop the fighting, it doesn't need to happen again, we are all brothers," said the Maluku Police Chief, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 26.

During the visit of the two top TNI-Polri leaders in Maluku, Malra Regional Secretary (Sekda) Ahmad Yani Rahawarin was also present.

The Kapolda asked the people of the two villages to submit everything to the legal process. The regional police chief said he had arrested the perpetrators behind the clashes.

"We have secured the perpetrators, and I remind you that there should be no provocateurs who deliberately create chaos in this area," said Latif.

The regional police chief said he would uphold the rule of law. If someone takes another person's life, then it must be legally accounted for, even if through customary means it can be resolved.

"Right now, the most important thing is short-term handling, both the cessation of disputes and efforts for peace as well as dealing with the impacts experienced by the community," he said.

Pangdam XVI/Pattimura Maj. Gen. Ruruh Aris Setyawibawa also appreciated the desire of the two groups of citizens to make peace.

"Currently, the two community groups, both Ohoidertutu and Ohoiren, both want conditions to be conducive or back to normal," said the Military Commander.

He believes that the conflict caused a lot of losses and greatly affected the daily activities of residents, such as children not being able to go to school.

Malra Secretary Ahmad Yani Rahawarin said that the Kei people uphold the dignity of Ain Ni Ain, which means one has one. That is, if there is a problem then it is discussed properly.

"Today we were visited by the Kapolda and Pangdam, it is clear that this dispute has damaged the image of Malra, what does it mean for the government to build all facilities, if public security and order are not conducive," he said.

The incident should be regretted together, so it is hoped that in the future it will not happen and repeat itself. "Because what we have in us is kinship and kinship," he said.

The conscience of the second ohoi community has conveyed that there will be peace soon, so it is only a matter of waiting for a good time for peace to be held.

Rahawarin added, in connection with the damage and others, it is a burden for the Malra Regency Government, and will be followed up.
