PALANGKA RAYA - The Supervisory Body of the Supreme Court (MA) has taken over the process of alleged violations of the code of ethics by three judges at the Palangka Raya District Court, Central Kalimantan, which acquitted the drug accused.

"The procedures that must be carried out by the Palangka Raya High Court as a front guard for the Supreme Court in Central Kalimantan against the behavior of individuals, both ASN or employees, judges or whatever, we have implemented. That is what is forwarded to the Supreme Court Bawas," said Head of the Palangka Raya High Court Zainuddin through executing the daily duties of Sinarta HD Sinuraya in Palangka Raya, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 26.

According to him, the MA Bawas team consisted of five people and arrived in Palangka Raya in early July 2022. During the three days in Palangka Raya the MA Bawas team had conducted various checks on the parties.

The Supreme Court Bawas team also investigated three Palangka Raya District Court judges who acquitted the drug defendant Salihin alias Saleh bin Abdullah. The three judges consisted of Heru Setiyadi as Chief Judge and Member Judges Syamsuni and Erhammudin.

Regarding when the Supreme Court's Bawas decision was issued, the man who daily serves as a high judge at the Palangka Raya High Court conveyed whether or not decisions were made quickly depending on the complexity of the case.

"Only the Bawas itself knows that their SOPs must exist. Usually it can be one month, it can also take longer to make decisions. They also don't want arrears," he said.

He said that if the reports alleged to the three judges were proven to be true, the sanctions would range from verbal reprimands, written reprimands, postponement of promotions, suspensions as judges and demotion even to dishonorable dismissal.

However, if the allegations are not proven, the three judges also have the right to restore their respective good names according to the provisions of the law.

Therefore, the public is asked to be patient waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court Bawas. He guaranteed that the Supreme Court Bawas would make the best decision in order to maintain the dignity and prestige of the court.

"This is about the image of the court. This is not only about the symbols but the dignity of the judiciary throughout Indonesia," said Sinarta HD Sinuraya.
