SOLO - The Solo Debarkation Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) said that one member of the pilgrims from Central Java who had tested positive for COVID-19 had increased to two.

"Haji who have tested positive for COVID-19 have added one from Magelang Regency to group 11, bringing the total to two," said Solo Debarkation PPIH Public Relations Coordinator Sarip Sahrul Samsudin as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 23.

Previously, a hajj from Jepara Regency who was part of the local debarkation group 3 tested positive for COVID-19.

He explained that 359 members of the Hajj group 11, a combination of Magelang and Kendal regencies, arrived at Adi Soemarmo Airport in Boyolali, Saturday, at around 01.47 WIB.

After arriving at the local airport, the pilgrims were taken to the Jeddah Building of the Haji Donohudan Boyolali Dormitory for an antigen swab test.

The results of the test, a pilgrim showed reactive and then carried out a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

"A pilgrim of the 11th group, from the results of the PCR swab test by the health team, came out at 08.00 WIB and was declared positive for COVID-19. This Hajj was positive but people came in without symptoms," he said.

Sarip said the number of pilgrims from Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) who had been repatriated to their respective regions until today's repatriation period was 3,953 people, while members of the pilgrims who were still in Saudi Arabia were 11,120 people.

PPIH Solo Debarkation at the Donohudan Boyolali Hajj Dormitory is currently still waiting for the arrival of the 12th batch of pilgrims from Magelang and Klaten regencies totaling 360 people.

The group is scheduled to arrive at Adi Soemarmo Airport in Boyolali, Saturday, at around 16.10 WIB.
