JAKARTA - The Director General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, said that the integration of the Population Identification Number (NIK) with the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) is for the welfare of the nation.
"Integrating the NIK as an NPWP is a big task in contributing to the welfare of the nation," said Zudan in a public discussion reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 22.
Through the integration of NIK with NPWP, said Zudan, the process of managing and distributing taxes can be better and on target so that welfare can increase.
He said the equitable distribution of taxes also embodies the value of gotong royong which is the philosophy of the Indonesian nation and state.
"So, if the tax goes well, mutual cooperation to make the community happy will go well," said Zudan.
The integration of NIK into TIN, continued Zudan, is also the implementation of the governance of the One Data Indonesia principle.
Zudan said that up to now at least 19 million NIK have been synchronized to become NPWP.
He explained that the integration process of NIK as NPWP has been carried out since 2021 as mandated by Law Number 7 of 2021 concerning Harmonization of Tax Regulations (UU HPP).
