Police Observer Thinks Police Made A Mistake In Not Opening Autopsy Results And CCTV Behind Brigadier J's Bloody Incident

JAKARTA - Police observer from the Institute for Security and Strategic Studies (ISESS), Bambang Rukminto assessed that the steps were taken by the Police for not disclosing the results of CCTV and the initial autopsy in the case of the death of Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J were a fatal mistake. The non-disclosure of the autopsy results in the initial handling of the case leading to various speculations.

"It was the police's fault at the beginning, not revealing the facts related to this autopsy clearly", said Bambang when contacted, Friday, July 22.

At the beginning of this case, the National Police only conveyed a chronological narrative of the incident which was called a shootout between Brigadier J and Bharada RE. However, it is not accompanied by authentic evidence.

Thus, that factor triggers the emergence of negative speculations.

"The police only conveyed narratives without authentic evidence. In the end, it gave rise to irregularities that were felt by the public", he said.

However, Bambang appreciated the steps taken by the Police to accept the request of Brigadier J's family for a re-autopsy. This step is considered a serious commitment to investigating the case openly.

However, they still have to open the CCTV footage that has been found and serve as new evidence. Thus, speculation will no longer arise and all investigation results can be accounted for with authentic evidence.

"If it is true that the CCTV was at the residence when the incident occurred, the police must open it. This is indeed a relatively tough test for unprofessional police officers, but very easy for those with integrity and professionalism", said Bambang.

Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J died at the halfway house of the Head of the National Police's Professional and Security Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Friday, July 8.

So far, Brigadier J's cause of death is said to have been involved in a shootout with Bharada RE.

However, the family believes there is suspicion of premeditated murder behind it. So, report the allegations.

Based on the results of the case, Criminal Investigation Division upgraded the status of the suspected premeditated murder from investigation to investigation.
