Search The South Sulawesi PUTR Office And South Sulawesi BPK, This Is What The KPK Found

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched two offices in South Sulawesi on Thursday, July 21 yesterday. As a result, investigators found evidence of alleged bribery in the examination of financial statements which was a development of the case of former Governor Nurdin Abdullah.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said investigators had searched the South Sulawesi Provincial PUTR Office and the South Sulawesi State Audit Board Office in Makassar City. During the search, evidence was found, including financial documents.

"At the two locations in question, various evidences were found and secured, including various financial statement documents allegedly related to the case," Ali told reporters in his written statement, Friday, July 22.

Documents recovered from this search, said Ali, will be analyzed. "The confiscation of the evidence will be carried out immediately to complete the investigation files of the suspects," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK has developed a case against the former Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin Abdullah. Allegations of bribery in the examination of financial statements in the South Sulawesi Provincial Government are currently being targeted.

The anti-corruption commission said that the bribery for financial audits at the South Sulawesi Provincial Government allegedly occurred in the 2020 fiscal year at the South Sulawesi Public Works and Spatial Planning Service. However, the KPK has not specified the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata even said that the case developed from accepting bribes from former South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah was similar to the alleged bribery committed by Bogor Regent Ade Yasin.

"More or less the same, this is a development and we know that there is a flow of money. There is a demand for money related to the audit process, right," said Alexander, Thursday, July 21 yesterday.
