BANDA ACEH - Chairman of the Young National Mandate Enforcement Front (BM PAN) Sigit Purnomo alias Pasha Ungu stated that he would run as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Electoral District (Dapil) 3 of DKI Jakarta.

"God willing, I myself will run as a candidate for DPR RI from the DKI Jakarta Dapil 3," said Pasha Ungu after meeting Aceh PAN BM cadres in Banda Aceh, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 20.

The PAN politician said that the reason he was running for the DPR RI through the DKI Jakarta Dapil was because he had received an order from the General Chair of PAN Zulkifli Hasan to guard the seats from the area.

In the electoral district, he said, previously there was a PAN representative in the DPR from Dapil 3 DKI Jakarta but he had died so he was assigned to guard the seat.

"So it is obligatory for PAN to keep the existing seats. I was assigned to guard those seats in Dapil 3 DKI Jakarta," said the vocalist of the Ungu music group.

Pasha said that even though he will advance from outside his base or origin, namely Central Sulawesi, he is still optimistic that he will be able to get votes from DKI Jakarta and move to Senayan, as the DPR RI is located.

Moreover, continued Pasha, today's society in DKI Jakarta is very heterogeneous, quite developed, and there are various races and ethnicities.

"And we also benefit as public figures, where the whole community can be said to know us. This is an added value too," said the former deputy mayor of Palu.

He reiterated that as a cadre he is ready to be assigned anywhere by the party he belongs to, by continuing to strive for victory.

"God willing, I will win. Pray that I can enter Senayan, fight for the people and be able to visit Aceh often," said Pasha.
