The award for the outstanding babinsa was given by the Army Chief of Staff when giving a briefing to 900 babinsa who were taking part in the Babinsa Apel from the Korem 042/Gapu at the Jambi Convention Center Building.

He then mentioned the profile of Sertu Husni Thamrin. This member of Koramil 420-03/Pauh is a babinsa in Bukit Suban Village. The man who was born in Merangin, Jambi, September 26, 1972, has been a member of the TNI since 28 years ago.

In 1994, Sergeant Husni Thamrin served in Yon Zipur 2/SG Prabumulih, South Sumatra, then in 2005 moved to Kodim 0420/Sarko, Korem 042/Garuda Putih, Kodam II/Sriwijaya became a babinsa in Bukit Suban Village.

It was because of this dedication that Sertu Husni Thamrin became a leading member of the 0420/Sarko Kodim. Sertu Husni Thamrin once received an award from the Commander of the Regional Military Command II/Sriwijaya for his dedication who has taken his time to continue to develop the Anak Dalam Tribe, which is an ethnic minority.

During the visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo in 2015, the figure of Sertu Husni Thamrin became the mouthpiece between President Jokowi and the Anak Dalam Tribe when the President met the Anak Dalam Tribe.
