JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria requested that the quality of data and information delivery in disaster management continue to be improved after the three-day Regional Coordination Meeting for Disaster Management which was opened in Jakarta.

"Improving the quality of data, information, reporting of disaster events through optimizing the use of information and communication technology tools and utilizing social media channels that are fast and effective to the people of Jakarta," Riza said in a press release reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 18.
According to Riza, with a total population of more than 10 million people, Jakarta is vulnerable to various types of disasters, including floods.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has developed a flood control system (Flood Control System) in the "Jakarta Smart City" application to optimize flood risk management in its area.
The data is integrated in one platform and the flood control system will perform analysis to produce information about conditions, potentials, and predictions so that they can provide solutions for flood management in Jakarta.
The data will also be an asset and source of information for the government to make decisions regarding flood management in Jakarta.

2. Ensure the implementation of disaster management with adequate budget support, quickly, accurately, and responsibly in accordance with applicable regulations.
3. Continuing to improve the capacity of Human Resources related to disaster management through the provision of training and education, at various points in the Jakarta area, especially disaster-prone areas.
4. Implementation of the establishment and development of disaster-resilient villages in various areas of the City of Jakarta, in order to educate the community to become citizens who are ready and have independence in tackling disasters.
