Floods On Jalan Jeruk Purut, Cilandak, South Jakarta, Had Reached A Height Of 65 Centimeters Saturday Morning

JAKARTA - Floods in the Cilandak area, especially on Jl. Jeruk Purut RT 09/03, East Cilandak, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta (South Jakarta) briefly reached a height of 65 centimeters (cm) on Friday, July 15 afternoon until Saturday morning.

"Currently the water has receded by about 20 cm from 9 o'clock. So, only 45-50 cm is left. No residents have been evacuated and evacuated," said one of the Jakarta BPBD officers, Atgianto, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 16.

According to Atgianto, the flood came from overflowing water from the Krukut River which then flowed into people's homes during heavy rainfall.

Then, at 11.16 WIB, the water seemed to be receding, so a number of officers and residents began to work together to transport goods that had been hit by the flood water.

A number of officers who took part in handling the flood consisted of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Handling of Public Infrastructure and Facilities (PPSU) in East Cilandak Village and the South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept.

According to one resident, Nunuk, this activity coincided with the planned circumcision of a resident's child which had to be postponed until 12.00 WIB.

A number of loudspeakers and chairs began to be lifted back into the house that held the celebration.

Nunuk said that if the water did not recede, several residents whose houses were flooded would take refuge in Al Makmuriah Mosque.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center, Muhammad Insyaf, said that there were 71 RTs out of 30,470 RTs that were affected by flooding in DKI Jakarta due to the rain.

Insyaf said that in the South Jakarta area, there were 22 RTs that were flooded, covering eight sub-districts, namely East Cilandak, Bangka, Pondok Labu, Pondok Pinang, Petogogan, West Tanjung, East Pejaten and Rawajati.
