Ukraine Mourns Death Of 4-year-old Boy In Vinnytsia

JAKARTA - The name of Lisa Dmitrieva (4 years) echoed throughout Ukraine. He was one of the victims of a Russian missile attack that hit an office building in Vinnytsia, a city of 370,000 people about 200 km southwest of Kyiv.

The Kalibr cruise missile is the culprit. And launched from a Russian submarine in the Black Sea.

As a result of this missile, 23 people died and injured many others.

The missile destroyed a nearby medical center and several people who had come for treatment for burns in their cars. Two doctors were seriously injured.

The attack was the latest in a series of Russian strikes in recent weeks using long-range missiles.

And one of them is Lisa Dmitrieva who has Down Syndrome. His body was found in the rubble next to the stroller.

An image of him pushing the same stroller, posted by his mother on the blog less than two hours before the attack, quickly went viral.

His seriously injured mother, Iryna Dmitrieva, is now in intensive care. However, it is reported that Lisa's death information is still being kept tightly so as not to interfere with the healing process.

"He had burns, chest wounds, stomach wounds, liver and spleen injuries. We had stitched his organs together, his bones shattered as if he went through a meat grinder," Oleksandr Fomin, chief doctor at Vinnytsia Emergency Hospital , reported by Channel News Asia, Saturday 16 July.

"We will lose her," said the doctor explaining the reason for keeping the information on Lisa's death tightly closed.
