3 Toddlers In North Sulawesi Positive For COVID-19

MANADO - Three toddlers in North Sulawesi (Sulut) aged 0-4 years were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in July 2022.

"This condition illustrates that children can be infected due to activities outside the house and or adults who carry the virus into the family environment," said Head of the Surveillance and Immunization Section at the North Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Mery B Pasorong in Manado, reported by ANTARA, Friday, 15 July.

The three toddlers are from Tomohon City (two people) and the next one is from the Sangihe Islands Regency. Meanwhile, children aged five to 14 years who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 came from Tomohon City.

He hopes that vigilance needs to be further increased through obedience and discipline in implementing health protocols such as the use of masks.

In addition, he invited all targets for COVID-19 vaccination, both complete and booster doses, for over 18 years of age to immediately visit service facilities to be vaccinated.

Sequentially, one positive person for COVID-19 in the age range 15-24 years, four people (age 15-34 years), two people (age 45-54 years), two people (age 65-74 years) and one person above 75 years old.

In total, throughout July, North Sulawesi residents were confirmed positive for COVID-19 as many as 14 people.

The cases were distributed in Tomohon City as many as four people, Minahasa Regency (four people), while North Minahasa Regency, Manado City, South Minahasa Regency, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Sangihe Islands Regency and outside the region each had one case.
