TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa Star Award From The Sultan Of Brunei Darussalam

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa received the Most Glorious Laila Terbilang Darjah Paduka Keberanian Award, the highest award given by the Sultanate of Brunei to the leaders of the armed forces.

"The awarding of the last title was previously given to TNI Commander TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, SIP was handed over directly by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on his Birthday, July 15, 2018," said the Ambassador (Ambassador) of the Republic of Indonesia in Bandar Seri Begawan, Dr. Sujatmiko through a press release quoted ANTARA, Friday, July 15.

The awarding of the Brunei National Star, said the ambassador, was given directly by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in the framework of the 76th HUT (Birthday) of the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darusslam in a ceremony on July 15, 2022, at Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan.

In addition to serving as the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah is also the highest defense and government minister of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces as well as the foreign minister, economy and finance minister of Brunei.

Ambassador Sujatmiko said the awarding of the star showed the strong and close relationship between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, especially between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the TNI.

The Indonesian government has also given Bintang Yudha Dharma Utama to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

The recipients of the award since 2011 include the Honorable Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah on 17 June 2015 and His Excellency Maj. Gen. Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin on 22 August 2011.

Cooperation between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam in the field of defense has been close, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The cooperation is among others in the field of education between the RBAF and the TNI. Starting the 2021 Academic Year, Brunei Darussalam has even increased the allocation from 1 to 2 TNI Officers to attend the RBAF Sesko in Brunei Darussalam.

According to the records of the Indonesian Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, during 2018-2022, 18 TNI personnel have carried out education in Brunei.

Other cooperation is joint training between the TNI and the RBAF which is regularly held alternately in both countries, both jointly and inter -military.
