The Regent Of Kapuas Hulu Flys To Jakarta For The Promotion Of Super Red Arowana Fish

JAKARTA - The Regent of Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, Fransiskus Diaan, promoted the potential of arowana fish during the Arowana Cup at Lippo Mall Kemang, Jakarta.

"Super red arowana fish from Kapuas Hulu has a fairly high selling value to foreign countries," said Fransiskus Diaan in a written statement received in Kapuas Hulu, Friday, July 15.

Fransiskus said, arowana fish are commonly known by the people of Kapuas Hulu as Siluk fish. And the most famous is the super red arowana, which has a distinctive shape, pattern and color of deep red.

This character is also what distinguishes arowana fish in other regions or provinces.

According to him, the super red arowana species is the only ornamental fish species that is the mainstay of West Kalimantan's exports.

"This fish is the pride of the people of Kapuas Hulu," said Fransiskus as quoted by Antara.

He said, arowana fish farming in Kapuas Hulu is quite promising with a fairly high price, even hundreds of millions of rupiah per head.

So do not be surprised, Kapuas Hulu can also be known through the cultivation of arowana fish to foreign countries.

Fransiskus told that the arowana fish live from freshwater fish and one of the species that live in Sentarum Lake.

"Many people of Kapuas Hulu cultivate arowana fish in ponds, in addition to boosting the community's economy it has also opened up employment opportunities," he explained.

Nevertheless, Fransiskus invites all parties, especially the people of Kapuas Hulu to preserve arowana fish so that they do not become extinct.

"Arowana fish is a promising economic potential, but it is also a challenge for us in its management and preservation, let's continue to preserve arowana fish," said Fransiskus.

On that occasion, Francis was also accompanied by the Deputy Regent of Kapuas Hulu, Wahyudi Hidayat and a number of members of the Kapuas Hulu DPRD. Arowana Cup Jakarta is organized by the Event Organizer Jakarta City Market and Faith Arowana which will be held from 15 to 16 July 2022.
