Smoothing Obscene Actions On Children In Yogyakarta, FAS Perpetrators Claim To Be Middle School Students And Show Vital Organs

JAKARTA - The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Yogyakarta Regional Police has arrested eight people involved in the exploitation and distribution of pornography and decency through social media networks and online.

In order to smooth the action, one of the perpetrators with the initials FAS pretended to be a Class 1 junior high school student and made a video call with the child victim via a smartphone. FAS was arrested in the Klaten area with three gadgets as evidence.

Karo Penmas Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said this case report was received with the number LP/B/6492/VI/2022/DIY. The modus operandi of the FAS perpetrator was to look for the victim's number through a WhatsApp (WA) group managed by another suspect.

"The modus operandi is, the perpetrator looks for a target number in the WA group, the perpetrator joins the group. Then (Members of the group) give the WA number with the sentence that the child can be VCS or video call sex," explained Ramadhan at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 13th.

The number obtained by the perpetrator in the WA Group was then contacted. FAS claimed to be a Grade 1 junior high school student.

"The perpetrator contacted the target and showed his intimate organs with the child. In addition, the perpetrator also asked the victim for the number of his friends who could be contacted for the next target. There have been four children who were asked by the perpetrator from May 2022 to now," explained Ramadhan.

There are approximately 10 WA groups that provide access to the child numbers of potential victims. Two groups, continued the one-star general, have been identified named @GCBH and BBV.

These two groups are managed by seven other suspects with different roles. There is an SD perpetrator who is an admin of the GCBH group who was arrested in Saltiga on 6 July. AC who acts as an uploader of child pornography content in the GCBH group, ABH as an uploader of pornographic content in GCBH.

"Then AN was arrested in Central Kalimantan on 7 July 2022 as an uploader of pornography in the BBV group. BS was arrested in Bandar Lampung on 8 July 2022 as a group maker. BD was arrested in Karawang on 9 July 2022 as a content uploader in GCBH and AR as a content uploader in the BBV group, "explained Ramadan.

Ramadhan added that the members of the two WA groups totaled 1,550 with 2,372 videos and images containing pornography for children and adults.

"Meanwhile, from the results of digital forensics on digital evidence, there are approximately 103 content in the form of videos and images related to children as victims of exploitation which are distributed through social media accounts and application groups," explained Ramadhan.
