Vice Mayor Visits 100 Year Old Surabaya Residents

SURABAYA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji visited Sri Supartini, a citizen of the City of Heroes who is one century or 100 years old at his residence in Pucang Sewu Village, Gubeng District, Surabaya City, East Java.

"Alhamdulillah, in the city of Surabaya, there are still residents who have reached the age of one century. This shows that the life expectancy of the citizens of the City of Heroes is increasing from year to year," he said when he met Mbah Sri Supartini as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 12.

According to Armuji, based on data compiled by the Surabaya City Government, since 2019 the life expectancy of Surabaya has reached 74.15 years, in 2020 it will remain at 74.15 years and in 2021 it will increase to 74.18 years.

"From these parameters, it can be observed that the level of health services in the city of Surabaya is getting better, paying attention to environmental conditions and infrastructure to nutritional adequacy for its citizens," he said.

Mbah Sri Supartini is a resident of Pucang Sewu Village who will turn 100 on June 30, 2022. The mother of five children did not expect to be visited by the Deputy Mayor of Surabaya, Armuji.

Upon entering Mbah Supartini's residence, the Deputy Mayor saw Mbah Supartini's condition, who was still healthy and fit and fluent in communication. Supartini occasionally makes jokes.

"Sing visited Mr. Wawali, did you give him a gift? (Who visited Mr. Wawali, what gift did you bring?)," said Mbah Supartini, greeted by laughter from Armuji and the accompanying entourage.

Sri Supartini said that he had lived since the Dutch colonial era, continued by Japan, the independence revolution and until now.

He said that one of the body's tips to stay in shape at this age is to adjust your diet and do regular exercise in the form of small walks every morning.

At the end of the meeting, Wawali Armuji gave gifts and fruits as gifts for Sri Supartini while praying for continued health.

"We pray that Mbah Supartini will always be given health," said Armuji.
