West Java (Jabar) Binamarga UPTD official Bubun Bunyamin said the construction of the new road runway in Tanggeung District used a number of heavy equipment to complete it on target and involved dozens of workers.
"Meanwhile, the lane opening and closing system is still being implemented so that repairs can continue and traffic will not be hampered. The southern main route has been able to be passed alternately since two weeks ago," he said in Cianjur, West Java, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 12.
Currently, he added, his party is also concentrating on repairing the runway of the provincial road that stretches from Campaka Subdistrict to Sindangbarang for 81 kilometers by way of asphalt.
"We are targeting the repair of damaged roads to be completed before the end of the year," said Bunyamin.
Previously, residents of southern Cianjur hoped that road repairs could be completed soon because since the main road connecting the south with the city of Cianjur was damaged, economic activity was hampered because residents had to cross alternative routes which took a long time.
"Even though it can be passed alternately, it causes queues, especially during heavy traffic hours in the afternoon until the early hours of the morning. We hope to return to normal because of traffic jams every day," he said.
