GARUT - A member of the Garut Police Resort (Polres), West Java, was fired from his unit because he was proven to have stolen a motor vehicle and had been absent from work for more than 200 days.

"Based on the West Java Regional Police Chief's decision letter, we conducted a disrespectful discharge ceremony or PTDH to one of our members, Brigadier Dian Hadianto," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono during the ceremony for the dismissal of a police officer reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 11.

He said the dismissal was dishonorable to the member based on a decree proving several violations, namely discipline, code of ethics, and crime.

The member concerned has also been proven to have abused drugs and then did not carry out his duties, then stole a motorized vehicle four times and there are already legal provisions.

"This was taken into consideration by the National Police's Professional Code of Ethics Commission to decide whether PTDH was recommended until finally a decision letter from the Regional Police Chief in question was sent to PTDH," he said.

The Chief of Police conveyed the decision to dismiss him as a firm action by the Police leadership against individuals who violated the law and code of ethics.

The existence of this action, he said, was a warning to others so that no more members of the Indonesian National Police would commit acts of violating the law, especially in the ranks of the Garut Police.

"This (PTDH) so as not to be repeated by Polri personnel, especially at the Garut Police Station. If there are individuals who do the same thing, we will take strict action," said the Police Chief.

The disrespectful dismissal ceremony was not attended by the person concerned so that the dismissal process was only presented with a photo of the member and then crossed out.
