JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, said the government always makes the results of surveys of credible institutions a true reflection of public trust in government performance.
"On behalf of the government, I am very grateful to see the current survey results. Public satisfaction with the government's performance has increased in almost all sectors", said Mahfud MD in an online discussion on the Release of the National Survey of Indonesian Political Indicators, reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 11.
He said the survey results could change again for the better or vice versa depending on the government's performance. The government will try to maintain its commitment to improving performance and continue to wait for the survey results at any time to be discussed to make improvements.
Mahfud said he was grateful that the public's view of the government was not static. This is always changing according to developments and changes in government performance.
"It can be seen from the results of the April 2022 survey that the government's performance is assessed by the community to have fallen by 59.9 percent because there are problems such as the cooking oil problem", he said.
Meanwhile, the survey results in June 2022 showed that the government's performance had increased by 67.5 percent after the government responded to the problems that occurred with several corrective steps.
Previously, the Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said that the total respondents who were satisfied with the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) based on the findings of a face-to-face national survey reached 67.5 percent.
Respondents who claimed to be very satisfied (9.7 percent), satisfied (57.8 percent), less satisfied (25.8 percent), not satisfied at all (4.4 percent), and did not know or did not answer (2.2 percent). The public said they were satisfied because the government provided assistance to the poor and carried out infrastructure development.

Meanwhile, the public is dissatisfied with President Jokowi's performance because of the rising prices of necessities. The factor of unequal assistance and not being well targeted is also a reason for the public being dissatisfied.
"The government is careful that in the future there is a plan to provide social assistance to the community, but it will be enjoyed by those who are not entitled to it, it will trigger public dissatisfaction among those who do not receive it", said Burhanuddin Muhtadi.
The survey began collecting data on June 16-24, 2022. The population of this survey is all Indonesian citizens who have the right to vote in general elections, namely those who are 17 years old or older or were married when the survey was conducted. In this survey, the sample base is 1,200 people with selected respondents being interviewed face-to-face by trained interviewers.
The sampling of the survey results used the multistage random sampling method.
The sample comes from all provinces which are proportionally distributed. Assuming a simple random sampling method, a base sample size of 1,200 respondents has a margin of error (MoE) of about 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
