JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) RI Sandiaga Uno also said that the trend of youth Citayam hanging out in DKI Jakarta has helped tourism.

"This is what they are popularizing in-city tourist destinations. I will coordinate with the DKI Jakarta tourism and creative economy offices," said Sandiaga, Friday, July 8.

Sandiaga knows that the viral habits of children and adolescents from Citayam on the side of Sudirman are becoming a hot topic in the community. According to him, this is a form of millennial lifestyle democratization.

"They display fashion (use) products from their regions but do not burden the area with negative activities. This is part of urban tourism (urbantourism). They came and then in the city corner took pictures," said Sandiaga after inaugurating the carbon footprint reduction program.

Sandiaga admitted that he had no problem with the trend that went viral on various social media. In fact, he estimates that this will take a week or two, considering that school holidays have not been completed.

"What's interesting about these Citayam children is that it's important not to spill, not to make trouble, not to do negative activities, they just have fun. I saw that they took pictures at GBK, in the courtyard of the city forest, there were several spots, so we have to beautify," said Sandiaga, who had served as Deputy Governor of DKI.

On the same occasion, Sandiaga was happy to see the trend of teenagers in the Dukuh Atas area with a distinctive dress style.

"In my opinion, if they are talented as promotional agents from these tourist destinations, we can embrace them and provide training and maybe later we will give scholarships to Tourism Polytechnics," he said.

Sandiaga even offered tourism school scholarships for lower-middle-aged teenagers which were actually considered to have the potential to support Indonesian tourism.

"Incidentally, we have the NHI Tourism Polytechnic in Bandung, not far from Citayam to develop its talents, because the content is cool, interesting and they are existing children who pack content lately."
