Fadli Zon's Answer When Asked When To Criticize The Defense Ministry Prabowo Subianto

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the Gerindra Party, Fadli Zon, is known to have highlighted the performance of President Jokowi Widodo's (Jokowi) government. However, his criticism of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) sounded silent.

When asked by constitutional law observer Refly Harun about his voice not being heard at the Ministry of Defense, Fadli Zon answered this.

"The problem is that so far, the steps from the Ministry of Defense are good," said the member of the DPR on Refly Harun's YouTube channel, Friday, July 8.

The Ministry of Defense is known to be led by Minister Prabowo Subianto who is also the General Chair of the Gerindra Party. Fadli Zon claims the Ministry of Defense is performing according to his expectations as a member of the council representing the public.

"It can even correct the deals for buying defense equipment that are not appropriate and so on," said Fadli Zon.

Fadli Zon assessed that the Ministry of Defense's achievements have so far not fallen to the lower level. Therefore, he feels that he has not been followed up to criticize the Ministry of Defense. "So I haven't seen a gap to criticize," he added.

Fadli ensured that he would continue to provide input in the form of criticism to the Ministry of Defense in accordance with his function as a member of the DPR.

In fact, he said, he is ready to carry out functions on behalf of the public to ensure that the legislature does not deviate or is unethical.

"That's part of the legislature's task. The DPR should monitor being over side, even watchdogs," he said.
