JAKARTA - Rescue workers from the Bogor Regency Fire Department, West Java, managed to evacuate a seven-year-old girl who fell into a 15 meter deep well in Sukahati Village, Cibinong District.

"The survivors were successfully evacuated by officers in a safe condition," said the Commander of Team 1 of the Rescue Team of the Bogor Regency Fire Department, Arman Riyanto in Cibinong, Thursday, July 7.

According to him, the girl slipped and fell into a well near her house when she was about to perform ablution at around 05.30 WIB.

"He wanted to pray at dawn, while the condition of the closed well was not tight, so the child fell," said Arman.

Residents reported the incident to the Fire Department, who then deployed a rescue team to evacuate the girls who fell into the well.

Rescue workers who descended into the well using ropes, flashlights, and other evacuation equipment managed to evacuate the child in about 40 minutes.

Arman said the child was able to survive in the well because he was holding on to the water engine straps while waiting to be evacuated.
