SRAGEN - The Sragen Police have arrested a man with the initials DP alias M (33), the perpetrator of the murder of his own mother, SR (53) in Widoro Village, Sragen Wetan Village, Sragen Regency, Central Java, Wednesday 6 July.

M, a resident of Widoro Sragen Wetan, who is still the victim's biological child, orchestrated the murder of his own mother so that it appeared that he had died because he fell in the bathroom of the house on June 28.

"Initially, the incident was not suspicious," said the Head of the Sragen Police, AKBP Piter Yonatta, in a press conference at the Sragen Police Office, Central Java, Wednesday, July 6.

After being buried, a number of neighbors suspected and suspected that there was another cause for the victim's death. The residents then made a report to the Sragen Police for investigation. The Sector Police asked the Satreskrim Sragen Police to go to the victim's house to check at the scene and examine the witnesses.

"However, after the family and community gathered for the funeral, there was information that there were irregularities. There were residents who heard the victim before she died there was an argument with the perpetrator," he said, according to Antara.

The police collected evidence and it was suspected that there were indications of irregularities in the victim's death. The Sragen Police Criminal Investigation Unit decided to ask permission from the family to dismantle the victim's grave.

"So on June 30 it was reported to the Sector Police. We then coordinated with the Central Java Police Dokkes team to send a team to dismantle the victim's grave, on July 3, 2022," said Yonatta.

The autopsy team that was dispatched to the tomb found a number of bruises on the victim. The back of the victim's head is believed to have been hit by a blunt object. This includes the victim's right temple and chest.

Investigators then gathered evidence in the field and there were indications of murder. From the statements of a number of witnesses who were examined, the alleged perpetrator pointed to the biological child of the DP victim who lives in the same house with his mother.

DP was then secured and detained at the Sragen Police Headquarters to undergo further examination.

During the examination, the perpetrator admitted that his mother fell in the bathroom. However, it was revealed that the incident was just a scenario where the perpetrator deliberately prepared a bucket filled with water as if his mother had fallen her head into a bucket filled with water.

"The results of the autopsy carried out by the perpetrator against the victim showed that there was physical action by swinging his hand and hitting his head, chest until his mother fell and then hit the floor three times so that the victim fainted," said Yonatta.

For his actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code regarding murder cases or Article 351 of the Criminal Code regarding criminal acts of persecution with a weight that caused the death of another person, the threat of a sentence of 15 years in prison.
