Police Start Firmly, Take Action On Cars Parked Carelessly On The Shoulder Of Jalan Kebon Sirih

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) took action against four-wheeled vehicles parked along Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, July 6.

Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasat Lalu) Kompol Purwanta said his party together with the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-department took action. This step is a form of anticipating traffic jams.

"According to the law, parking is not allowed on the sidewalk. On this road it is not allowed to park haphazardly because it greatly disrupts the flow of traffic on Jalan Kebon Sirih," said Kompol Purwanta at the location, Wednesday, July 6.

He also said that today there were 4 four-wheeled vehicles that received a warning. His party has not yet imposed a fine on vehicles parked on the sidewalk.

"We have only given warnings to 4 cars. In the future, if there are cars parked on the sidewalks and shoulders of the road, we will immediately tow them, which will then be ticketed," he said.

Later, all vehicles caught, both cars and motorbikes, will be immediately taken to the Central Jakarta Transportation Agency office. All vehicles will be placed there to be ticketed.

"We sent two cranes and a two-wheeled vehicle truck," he said.
