AMBON - Extreme weather in the form of heavy rains caused floods and high sea waves resulting in the death of two residents of Kurwara Raya Administrative Village, Kesui Watubela District, Eastern Seram Regency, Maluku and one other is still being searched.

The head of the Maluku Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Henri Far Far in Ambon, Wednesday, explained that based on a report received from the SBT Regency PB Satlak, the identity of one resident who died while fishing alone on Monday (4/7) was not yet known.

Another resident who died was named Abdul Malik Kelilauw (72). Meanwhile, a four-year-old boy named Azis T. Kelilau is still being sought.

"The fisherman, whose identity has not been identified, went to sea at around 16.00 WIT using nets and means of transportation in the form of canoes," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 6.

Based on the report from the Satlak PB of SBT Regency, the victim did not return home until 23.00 WIT so the family reported it to the TNI and Polri officers in the area.

Search efforts were carried out with the villagers until Tuesday (5/7), at around 10.00 WIT, yielded results, but the victim was dead.
