Regarding The ACT Case, Fadli Zon Tries Not To Judge: As Far As I Know, He Has A Good Reputation

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Fadli Zon, opened his voice regarding the alleged misappropriation of public funds by the leadership of the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) agency.

Even though the police are currently processing the case against ACT, Fadli admitted that he did not want to judge before the investigation was completed to prove the facts of the alleged circumcision of the donation funds.

"If I see it, one of the issues in question is a large cut and the remuneration for the management is quite high. But he said there was a correction. So, we'll see. But I don't want to judge," said Fadli when met at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, July 5th.

ACT is known to often collaborate in providing assistance with the government, including the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Fadli views that the government does not need to immediately evaluate the cooperation before the allegations of misappropriation of funds are proven.

Because, as Fadli knows, so far ACT has a pretty good reputation as an institution that collects donations, ranging from domestic to foreign aid.

"In my opinion, first see what the results of the investigation are like. Often there are rumors, yes. I have no interest in this. But if something goes wrong, then of course the mistake must be corrected and the person who made the mistake needs to be punished or punished," he said.

"But what I do know is that ACT has a pretty good reputation in various disaster situations, its arrival is quite fast. In fact, I have seen when I visited Rohingya refugees, on the border between Bangladesh and Myanmar, the existence or presence of ACT was felt," added Fadli.

As is known, the humanitarian agency ACT is suspected of misusing the budget for the personal interests of its leaders. This was revealed from the latest edition of Tempo Magazine's investigative report.

While serving as President of ACT, Ahyudin allegedly earned a salary of Rp. 250 million every month. Meanwhile, for positions below him, such as senior vice president, the salary is Rp. 200 million per month, vice president is Rp. 80 million, and executive director is Rp. 50 million.

According to a Tempo magazine report, Ahyudin was facilitated by three luxury vehicles when he served as President of ACT, such as the Toyota Alphard, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and Honda CRV. It was also found that ACT funds were used for Ahyudin's personal interests for household purposes.
