Welcoming Jokowi's Arrival In Medan, Governor Edy Rahmayadi: I Feel Very Honored, Welcome To North Sumatra

MEDAN - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his entourage arrived in Medan City. The arrival of the head of state was immediately greeted by the Governor of North Sumatra (Sumut) Edy Rahmayadi and his wife.

Governor Edy admitted that he was very honored to receive President Jokowi's visit. He said Jokowi's presence coincided with North Sumatra's efforts to combat stunting.

"I am proud and very honored, he was able to come directly to the commemoration of National Family Day in Medan City," he wrote on his Instagram account, @edy_rahmayadi, Tuesday, July 5.

The former PSSI chairman conveyed that Jokowi's visit for the umpteenth time became new energy and enthusiasm for him to build a more advanced and dignified North Sumatra.

"Welcome to North Sumatra, Mr. President, and thank you for your support in advancing North Sumatra," he said.

Based on information from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Jokowi accompanied by First Lady Iriana arrived at Soewondo Air Base, Medan City, North Sumatra, at around 16.05 WIB, Tuesday 5 July.

Arriving in Medan, the President and his entourage went straight to the hotel where they were staying to continue a number of activities in a series of work visits the next day.

"God willing, President @jokowi will visit the Nias Islands, then meet with the recipients of the Family Hope Program at the Petisah Market in Medan, review the Palm Oil Research Center, National Family Day, the inauguration of the revitalization of Medan Merdeka Field, and also the observation of floating houses in Belawan," said Governor Eddie.

Also present to greet the President and his entourage when Jokowi arrived in Medan City, including the Commander of the Military Command I/Bukit Barisan Major General TNI Achmad Daniel Chardin and his wife, North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol. RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak and his wife, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, and Danlanud Soewondo Colonel Pnb. Reka Budiarsa and his wife.
