JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs immediately summoned the leader of Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) to ask for information regarding the investigation report regarding the alleged misappropriation of public funds to the humanitarian organization.

He explained that the Ministry of Social Affairs has the authority to issue permits to collect money and goods and carry out inspections if there are problems or alleged violations in the collection of money and goods (PUB).

According to him, the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Social Affairs has the authority to examine alleged violations committed by the organizers of collecting money and goods and to temporarily freeze the permit of the institution concerned until the inspection process is complete.

In addition, according to the provisions in Article 19 letter b of the Regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs Number 8 of 2021, the Minister of Social Affairs has the authority to revoke and or cancel the permit to organize the collection of money and goods if the organizer is proven to have committed a violation.

"The Minister of Social Affairs can postpone, revoke, and or cancel the PUB permit that has been issued for reasons of public interest, the implementation of PUB is disturbing to the public, deviations and violations of the implementation of the PUB permit have occurred, and or cause problems in the community," said Harry.

He added that organizers of collecting money and goods could be subject to administrative sanctions in the form of a written warning, suspension to revocation of operating licenses, as well as criminal sanctions if they are proven to have violated statutory regulations.
