JAKARTA - The DPRD of Indramayu Regency made a working visit to the DPRD DKI Jakarta in order to ask for advice or consult on the waste management of the Capital City to be adapted in its area.

Meanwhile, during the years of planning up to now, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has not yet carried out the construction of an intermediate treatment facility (ITF).

The visit of the Indramayu DPRD was carried out on Monday, July 4 yesterday. This delegation of council members was received by Commission D for the Development of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

“Our goal in coming to Jakarta is to study and gain knowledge in the waste sector, where Jakarta is a clean and tidy city. What we see and visit around Jakarta looks clean," said Deputy Chairman of the DPRD Indramayu Turah, quoted on Tuesday, July 5.

To DPRD Indramayu, Member of Commission D DPRD DKI Jakarta Panji Virgianto revealed that currently DKI Jakarta is launching an ITF to manage Jakarta's waste. However, said Panji, so far no construction has been carried out.

"I say that in DKI there is no modern waste management. The ITF has not been implemented for 13 years, it is still in the process," said Panji.

Meanwhile, every day Jakarta produces up to 7,100 tons of waste per day. To overcome this, the DKI Provincial Government has provided waste banks in various areas of Jakarta so that waste waste can be recycled and has a high selling value.

"Jakarta is now starting to be more orderly in dealing with waste. Yesterday, I asked for the waste bank to exist so that it could turn into crystal seeds later, and then purchased by the factory to make it easier to recycle,” he said.

Then, Panji said that the handling of waste and cleanliness of DKI Jakarta was deployed by officers for the Handling of Public Infrastructure and Facilities (PPSU).

"Well, for cleanliness, there is PPSU. It is evaluated annually. Each village has 70 representatives. So it's a sense of mutual cooperation," he added.
