PALEMBANG - Dozens of patients being treated at the Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital on Jalan Pom IX Palembang, South Sumatra were evacuated from the building because it was suspected that a fire had occurred.

Patients ranging from children to the elderly were evacuated from the building, some of them even brought along beds, wheelchairs and were still being infusion with the help of security officers, nurses and other visitors.

"I heard the sound of explosions and glass breaking from the second floor of the building at around 21:55 WIB," said one of Okta's security officers at the location, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 4.

The Palembang Besar Resort Police (Polrestabes) are currently at the location.

Meanwhile, dozens of firefighters complete with five local city fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to check the conditions inside the hospital.
