Attending Dhikr Akbar Manaqib Al-Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School, Moeldoko Conveys The Dreams Of Indonesia Forward 2045

KARAWANG - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko attends the Dhikr Akbar Manaqib Sheikh Abdul Qodir Al-Jaelani, at the Al-Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School, in Karawang, West Java, Saturday night (2/7).

Accompanied by the Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office, Rumadi Akhmad, Moeldoko's arrival was welcomed by the caretaker of Ponpes KH. Junaedi Al-Baghdadi and tens of thousands of worshipers, who have packed the event location since the afternoon.

"Hopefully his presence (Moeldoko) will add blessings to Indonesia," Abah Junaedi called KH. Junaedi Al-Baghdadi, which the congregation immediately agreed with.

Before carrying out the joint dhikr, Moeldoko was asked to deliver a national oration. Appearing in a suit and black cap, the 2013-2015 TNI Commander spoke about the formation of the nation's character.

In his view, building national character can be done by forming good habits. This, said Moeldoko, is strongly influenced by family, school, community and environment.

"In the past, if I had not been a violator (surau/musala) I might not have been a general," said Moeldoko.

"There I was trained, taught discipline, taught the Koran, taught to share. And all of that has carried over to this day," he continued.

Departing from his experience, Moeldoko said that pesantren is a center for character building that can produce superior human resources. Moreover, if it is added to the existence of assemblies of dhikr, such as at the Al-Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School.

"Islamic boarding schools and dhikr assemblies like this will shape the nation's character. Because from here, superior and characterized human resources will be born," he said.

In his speech, Moeldoko also conveyed several achievements of President Jokowi. Such as infrastructure development, controlling COVID19, and national economic recovery.

"President Jokowi aspires to 2045 Advanced Indonesia. Let's together make his dreams come true," said Moeldoko, who also closed his speech.

The remembrance of Manaqib Sheikh Abdul Qodir Al-Jaelani, at the Al-Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School, is held once a week, every Saturday. Located in a 3-hectare Islamic boarding school, the dhikr assembly was attended by tens of thousands of worshipers from various regions.
