Labor Representatives Glide To The Constitutional Court Police Picked Up

JAKARTA - A number of labor representatives who held demonstrations against the Job Creation Law were invited to enter the Constitutional Court at around 12.53 WIB. They were greeted by the Head of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Nana Sudjana and Kabareskrim Listyo Sigit Prabowo before heading to the Constitutional Court.

Representatives of labor were also picked up by representatives of the Constitutional Court. This labor representative was invited to have a dialogue at the Constitutional Court. They also reminded the masses of workers to wear masks during demonstrations during this pandemic.

A number of labor elements held a demonstration against the Job Creation Law in the Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 2. In addition, they plan to file a judicial review on the Job Creation Law to the Constitutional Court.

Before heading to the Constitutional Court, Chairman of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal stated that the judicial review lawsuit against the Constitutional Court was one of the nets chosen by the labor movement while taking action against it until the Job Creation Law was canceled.

"Meanwhile, for other things, we want to carry out another action in front of the DPR building on November 9," said Said.

Then, he added, the mass of workers would also carry out a movement on social media to ask the government and the DPR to explain the contents of the Job Creation Law. This movement brought up two big issues, namely asking the president to cancel the Job Creation Law, and asking the government to increase the 2021 minimum wage

"If the government does not raise wages and does not cancel the Job Creation Law, I would like to call for a national strike to be carried out throughout Indonesia. The effect of the strike is to stop production. We will issue official instructions, not using fear, asking for 2 weeks friends factories, members of the KSPSI, KSPI, thousands of factories, we instruct them to do two weeks (strike).
