JAKARTA - The high intensity of rain that has fallen in Bengkulu City since Wednesday, June 29, has caused 886 houses to be flooded.

Head of the Bengkulu Province BPBD Emergency Response Division, Khristian Hermansyah, said that residents affected by the floods in Bengkulu City came from five sub-districts. The flood locations included Muara Bangkahulu District, mainly in Bentiring Village, Rawa Makmur Village, and Pematang Governor's Village; in Selebar Subdistrict, such as in Pagar Dewa Village, Bumi Ayu Village, and Pekan Saturday Village. In addition, in Sungai Serut sub-district, to be precise in Tanjung Agung, Tanjung Jaya, and Sukamerindu sub-districts; in Kampung Melayu Subdistrict such as in Padang Serai Village and Kandang Mas Village. In addition, in Ratu Agung Subdistrict, precisely in Sawah Lebar Village, Sawah Lebar Baru Village, Nusa Indah Village, and Tanah Patah Village.

He explained that currently the condition of the water that was inundating the roads and houses of residents ranged from 30 centimeters to two meters and some people fled to the post tents and to the houses of their closest relatives.

The number of houses flooded in Bengkulu City, namely in Bentiring Village about 151 houses, Rawa Makmur Village reached 325 houses, Pematang Governor Village about 11 houses, Tanjung Agung Village 50 houses, Tanjung Jaya Village 70 houses, Sukamerindu Village 50 houses, Kelurahan Sukamerindu In addition, Sawah Lebar Village has 18 houses, Nusa Indah Village 18 houses, Tanah Patah Village 28 houses, Pagar Dewa Village 33 houses, Bumi Ayu Village 40 houses, Week Saturday Village 13 houses, Padang Serai Village 18 houses, and Kandang Mas Village 36 houses.

He estimates that the number of houses inundated by floods will continue to increase because the data is still temporary, while his party is still collecting data.
