Jokowi Becomes First Asian Head Of State To Visit Ukraine - Russia, Social Media Activist: Carpenters Try To Reconcile The World

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Ukraine and Russia on a mission to establish a peace dialogue between the two conflict-ridden countries.

Social media activist Yusuf Muhammad praised Jokowi's bold move to visit the battlefield, bringing the principles of Indonesia as a country that upholds the creation of peace in the world.

In addition to flattery, Yusuf does not believe that Jokowi, who used to be a carpenter, has now become the first head of state from Asia to visit Ukraine and is scheduled for Russia when the war is going on.

"The carpenter is trying to reconcile the world," Yusuf said on his Twitter account, @yusuf_dumdum, Thursday 30 June.

Yusuf claimed to be a staunch supporter of Jokowi. He is also proud to be one of the many supporters knowing Jokowi is carrying out a peace mission.

"I am proud to be one of the hundreds of millions of dust who contributed to support @jokowi," said Yusuf.

According to Yusuf, the departure of Jokowi and the presidential entourage to the battlefield is a real diplomatic step, not just a figment of Indonesia's responsibility to voice non-alignment and peace.

"This peace effort is a form of real effort, not just rhetoric like the traitors to the nation. Hopefully this good intention will have positive results," he concluded.

President Jokowi left for Ukraine and Russia via Poland. The presidential entourage arrives at Rzeszo International Airport, Jasionka, Poland on Tuesday, June 28.

After a short transit, Jokowi, First Lady Iriana, and a limited entourage continued their peaceful mission to Ukraine.

In Ukraine, Jokowi visited a number of locations. The presidential entourage visited the rubble of the Lipky Apartment complex, which was hit by the Russian invasion in Irpin City.

Next, Jokowi visited the Center for Endocrine Science and Surgery, Endocrine Organ and Tissue Transplantation in Kyiv City.

After that, Jokowi held a meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the Maryinsky Palace.

After meeting with Zelensky, Jokowi continued his mission to establish peace dialogue with Russia via Poland.

The presidential entourage took the Extraordinary Train (KLB) to Poland from Kyiv Central Station, Ukraine, at exactly 19.00 local time.

Jokowi is scheduled to arrive tomorrow at Przemysl Glowny Station, Przemysl City, Poland. The group will go directly to Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport and then continue their tour to Moscow, Russia.
