MAKI: Lili Pintauli Should Resign So That She Is Not Fired And Is Entitled To Receive Pension Money

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman said Deputy Chair of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar should step down from his position rather than be fired if he is proven to have violated ethics.

This was conveyed by Boyamin in response to the KPK Supervisory Board which will immediately try Lili's alleged ethical violations related to the receipt of accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP.

"If the IDIC is willing to resign, then there is no need for heavy sanctions, such as dismissal. Thus, the IDIC is still entitled to receive pensions and other benefits," said Boyamin in a written statement to reporters quoted on Wednesday, June 29.

Lili, Boyamin continued, is very likely to lose her pension and other benefits if she is fired. In addition, the resignation of the former Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is also considered to be able to maintain the good fortune of the KPK.

Moreover, this is not the first time Lili has violated ethics. Previously, he had also been sentenced to a 40% reduction in his basic salary for a year.

The sentence was imposed by the KPK Council because Lili was proven to have violated the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. He was proven to have abused his influence as a KPK leader for personal gain and was in direct contact with the party whose case was being handled by the KPK, namely the former Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial.

"Once again, I beg the LPS to step down for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia, the price of goodness in eradicating corruption remains in the hearts of the people," said Boyamin.

Member of the KPK Supervisory Board, Albertina Ho, said that Lili's alleged receipt of accommodation and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP will be continued in an ethics trial. However, it is not yet known when the trial will take place.

Previously, Lili was reported back to the KPK Council for allegedly receiving hotel accommodation facilities to tickets to watch the 2022 MotoGP race at the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), from PT Pertamina (Persero).

The KPK Council has also collected materials and information from related parties, including the state-owned company. President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati has also been examined some time ago and provided additional information in writing.

Not only that, the KPK Council has also asked related parties to bring proof of booking accommodation at Amber Lombok Beach Resort and Mandalika MotoGP tickets at the Grandstand Premium Zone A-Red.
