Steel Import Case, Director Of The Metal Industry Ministry Of Industry Examined By AGO

JAKARTA - Investigators of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office examined the Director of Metal Industry of the Ministry of Industry Liliek Widodo as a witness in the investigation of the alleged criminal act of corruption in the import of iron or steel in 2016/2021.

"LW as Director of Metal Industry at the Ministry of Industry is being investigated regarding technical considerations for import approvals," said the Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana in a written statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 28.

In addition to Liliek, investigators also examined the Director of the Metal Industry of the Ministry of Industry for the period 2020 to 2022, namely Budi Susanto. Then another witness was from the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (Ilmate) of the Ministry of Trade. The witness was the Coordinator of Software and Content of the Directorate of Electronics and Telematics Industry Nosadyan Nasyim (NN).

Both of them were also examined regarding technical considerations on import approvals. "Witness examination is carried out to strengthen evidence and complete the filing in the case," said Ketut.

Monday (27/6) investigators also examined two witnesses from the Ministry of Industry. The two witnesses are the Coordinator of the Iron Metal Industry of the Ministry of Industry with the initials RAW and the Sub-Coordinator of the Metal Industry of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia with the initials MH.

In this case, investigators at the Roundabout have named 9 suspects, namely 3 individual suspects and 6 corporate suspects.

Of the three individual suspects, two of them are private suspects and one is from the Ministry of Trade. The three suspects are Retain Banurea Young Analyst of Import Trade at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (Dirjen Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade, Taufiq, the manager of PT Meraseti and the founder of PT Meraseti with the initials BHL or Budi Hartono Linardi.

Meanwhile, the other six suspects are importing companies, namely PT Bangun Era Sejahtera, PT Duta Sari Sejahtera, PT Intisource Baja Sakti, PT Jaya Arya Kemuning, PT Perwira Aditama Sejati, and PT Prasasti Metal Utama.
