Fake Police In Tangerang Arrested After Extortion And Threats

TANGERANG - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Tigaraksa Police of the Tangerang Police has arrested a man with the initials RZ (22) in a case of extortion and threats. During the action, the Tigaraksa resident of Tangerang Regency claimed to be a member of the police.

"It is true that a man with the initials RZ has been arrested who is suspected of extortion by claiming to be a member of the police. RZ wore a T-shirt with the police on it after extorting YK (19), on Tuesday (June 21) at around 20.30 in Kedongdong Village, Pasirnagka Village, Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency," explained Hengki, in a written statement, Tuesday, June 28.

Hengki explained that RZ threatened to shoot the victim's sister if she did not hand over two mobile phones.

“The perpetrator threatened the victim to shoot the victim's nephew if he did not hand over his personal belongings. At that time, the victim handed over two units of Realme and Vivo cellphones, then the victim reported the blackmail incident to the Tigaraksa Police, Tangerang Police, "explained Hengki.

After the victim reported to the police, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tigaraksa Police conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting RZ on Jalan Aria Jaya Santika, Pasirnangka Village, Tigaraksa Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency.

“The team managed to apprehend the perpetrator. And when the perpetrator was searched, evidence was found in the form of one unit of the victim's Realme brand cellphone, according to the report. It didn't take long for the perpetrator and the evidence to be brought to the Tigaraksa Police," said Hengki.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code concerning extortion with threats, the maximum sentence of nine years imprisonment.
