Admitting That He Was The Deputy Chairman Of The MPR To Replace Zulkifli Hasan, Yandri Susanto Was Sworn In Thursday Afternoon

JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR from the PAN faction, Yandri Susanto, admitted that he would become the Deputy Chair of the MPR replacing Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) who was inaugurated as Minister of Trade on June 15. Yandri thanked Zulhas, as the general chairman of PAN, for appointing him as leader of the MPR.

"I thank the general chairman of PAN who has given the mandate through the PAN DPP decision letter and has been sent to the PAN MPR faction," said Yandri at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 28.

Yandri revealed that he had communicated with MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo that the letter for the replacement of MPR leadership had been processed. Yandri will be sworn in on Thursday, June 30, at 13.00 WIB.

"I just called the chairman of the MPR, Mr. Bambang Soesatyo. The letter has been received and is now being processed to prepare for the inauguration. God willing, if the last information I received from the DPR was the inauguration on Thursday 30th at 1 pm," said Yandri. Yandri admitted that he received advice from Zulhas to carry out his duties as deputy chairman of the MPR. He stated that he was ready to cooperate with other MPR leaders according to the main tasks and functions.

"I got a lot of advice from Bang Zul, who has been in the MPR. He was Chair of the MPR for 5 years, now two and a half years as Deputy Chair of the MPR. And of course being my teacher all this time, I will continue a lot or at least approach his way to become a leader. MPR," said Yandri.

"Besides that, I am ready to cooperate with other MPR leaders. This means that the main tasks and functions are clear. Each deputy chairman has the function and duties. I will be in that corridor," said Yandri.

Regarding his replacement for the position of chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR, Yandri said he would hand it over to the General Chairperson, Zulkifli Hasan. He said it would be announced after the DPR was in recess.

"We have submitted that to the general chairman. His name already exists and God willing, he is a good person, can lead Commission VIII and will be announced maybe after the recess," he explained.

"The handover was in the process of handing over the hammer from me to the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Mr. Muhaimin, Mr. Muhaimin handing it over to the new chairman. So maybe the change of chairman of Commission VIII after this trial period, a new recess occurred," he said.
