'Give Yourself Up!', South Sumatra Police Warning For 2 DPOs For Murder Of Couples In Banyuasin

JAKARTA - The South Sumatra Police warned that two suspected perpetrators who were on the wanted list (DPO) related to the case of premeditated murder of a married couple in Banyuasin Regency, immediately surrendered.

"They are both in our hunt. From there, we warned you to surrender, come to the nearest police station and go directly to the South Sumatra Police Headquarters," said Head of Sub-Directorate III of Jatanras Ditreskrimum of South Sumatra Police, Kompol Agus Prihadinika, Monday, June 27, quoted from Antara.

According to him, the police have identified their initials A and K, after the police arrested one perpetrator, Samsudin (60), a resident of Muara Merang, Muara Merang Village, Bayung Lencir District, Musi Banyuasin, around 22.00 WIB Tuesday (21/6).

"S is applied at this time as a suspect. He admitted to investigators that he committed the murder of the husband and wife along with two of his colleagues, A and K," said Kompol Agus.

One of the DPOs was found to have a firearm which they used to kill the victims.

According to Prihadinika, the two dead victims were Somad (40) and his wife, Ida (40), residents of Sei Sembilang Hamlet, Sungai Paku Short, Sungsang IV Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency.

The bodies of the victims were found dead by residents in separate locations, around 18.00 WIB Friday (3/6). Ida's body was found under her house, then Somad was found in the swamps in the Sembilang forest area, which is about 100 meters from his house.

"The autopsy results found gunshot wounds to the back," said Prihadinika.

According to him, Samsudin confessed to the police that he was determined to kill the victims because he was motivated by revenge against Somad, who employed the suspect as a transport and woodcutter.

In addition to killing, Samsudin admitted that together with A and K they took some of the victim's property, namely a motorcycle, a gadget, jewelry in the form of necklaces, rings, and bracelets which were later discovered to be imitations.

The evidence was found by the police, stored at Samsudin's house. "For their actions, they are suspected of violating Article 340 of premeditated murder, Article 338 and Article 365 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code for theft with violence," he said.
